Hubei University of Science and Technology Hubei University of Science and Technology (HBUST) is locateted in Xianning City, a town that is considered to be the South Gate and Back Yard of Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province. Transportations HBUST is very convenient in terms of transportation. It takes 70 minutes to drive to Wuhan Airport. High speed transportations like Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, Beijing- Hongkong-Macao Freeway, Hangzhou-Ruili Freeway, Daqing-Guangzhou Freeway all run nearby. In addition, the Inter-city high-speed Railway shuttles between Xianning and Wuhan frequently. History HBUST has a history that can be traced back to 1937 when Puqi Normal School was first set up. Since then, She has gone through 83 years of changing and developing with different names at different times. She was granted the present name in 2012 after it was named Xianning University in 2002 when Xianning Normal College and Xianning Medical College merged into one. School motto HBUST prescribes Virtues, Knowledge, Action and Vision as its motto so as to cultivate her students into citizens with good virtues, rich knowledge, quickness in action and great vision.
